Ferreira had spent all eight years of his professional soccer career with FC Dallas.
FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas is reportedly transferring forward Jesus Ferreira to the Seattle Sounders, according to MLS Insider Tom Bogert.
As per Bogert, the Sounders have reached an agreement with FC Dallas and Ferreira to bring the talented USMNT striker to the Pacific Northwest.
Ferreira had spent his entire professional career of eight seasons with FC Dallas after advancing from its youth academy. He relocated to North Texas when his father, David Ferreira, was loaned to and eventually re-signed with FC Dallas.
During his eight seasons with the FC Dallas senior team, Ferreira netted 53 goals, ranking second in club history behind Jason Kreis (97). Speculation about a potential transfer surfaced earlier this month when Sounder at Heart reported that negotiations were in the advanced stages.
Bogert stated that FC Dallas will receive $2 million in General Allocation Money (GAM), an international roster slot, and winger Leo Chu in exchange. The agreement is reportedly finalized in principle but awaits final approval and the completion of paperwork.
Ferreira has also scored 15 goals in 23 appearances for the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT). He was a member of the 2022 USMNT World Cup team.
Ferreira and his girlfriend recently announced on social media they are expecting a child together in 2025.
