    Rick Davies, founder and vocalist of Supertramp, passes away at 81 after a lengthy fight with cancer cells

    LONDON– Rick Davies, the founder, vocalist and songwriter of British band Supertramp, has actually passed away after a lengthy fight with cancer cells, the band claimed Monday. He was 81.

    Davies, that co-wrote the band’s songs with Roger Hodgson, was “the voice and pianist behind Supertramp’s a lot of legendary tunes, leaving an enduring mark on rock-and-roll background,” the band claimed in a declaration on its web site.

    He passed away Saturday after fighting numerous myeloma, a kind of blood cancer cells, for greater than a years, the band claimed.

    Davies and Hodgson developed Supertramp in 1969, and generated hits consisting of “Bye-bye Unfamiliar person,” “The the Long Means Home,” “The Sensible Track,” and “Provide a Little.”
