Wyatt Johnston netted the go-ahead goal in his 200th NHL game as the Dallas Stars defeated the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 on Tuesday night.
Johnston redirected a centering pass from Thomas Harley over Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen’s right shoulder, securing a 3-2 lead for Dallas at 11:32 in the third period.
Jason Robertson contributed a goal and two assists, Roope Hintz tallied his team-leading 16th goal, and Esa Lindell scored an empty-netter for the Stars, who have earned points in their last four games (3-0-1). Casey DeSmith, making his ninth start of the season, recorded 21 saves and picked up his second career assist on Lindell’s goal.
Jason Tucker and Beck Malenstyn scored for the Sabres, whose three-game winning streak came to an end. Luukkonen made 29 saves in the loss.
