
BURNET AREA, Texas – The historical Joppa bridge in Burnet Region was removed in the tragic flooding in Central Texas.
Burnet District 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle shared video clip of the bridge drifting in the floodwaters.
The bridge lay eastern of the brand-new bridge on CR 200.

The backstory:
The Joppa Iron Truss Bridge was constructed in 1907 near an institution and church to assist locals get to bordering communities for organization.
The building and construction became part of a bond plan that resulted in the structure of 3 truss bridges. The Joppa bridge was the just one of the 3 that was still standing.
The Joppa Iron Truss bridge was no more being used.
The bridge obtained a state historic pen in 2017.
